Dr. Kamlesh Bahl CBE
Below is a brief biography of Dr. Bahl's career to date
Kamlesh Bahl is an independent mediator with
an unrivalled legal background, combining
28 years experience as a solicitor, lawyer and
mediator. In 1993, Kamlesh became the first Asian
and youngest woman ever to chair the Equal
Opportunities Commission and in 1998 she was
appointed to the position of Deputy Vice President
of the Law Society, soon followed by appointment to
Vice President, again the first, youngest, ethnic
minority woman to hold these positions
Kamlesh has a proven track record of mediation
success in a range of fields. She focuses on moving the
conflict toward a positive interaction between the parties and maintaining the ongoing relationship. Allowing the parties time and space to address their individual issues in a confidential, impartial and supportive environment
In 2001, Kamlesh was involved in a personal Employment Tribunal case that has given her a unique insight and advantage in mediation. Having sat on both sides of the table, she has the ability to be truly empathetic, objective and impartial
Appointed as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development in 1997, Kamlesh has also received Doctorates in Law from De Montfort, Birmingham and Northumbria Universities
In 1997, Kamlesh received the CBE from the Queen in recognition of public service and pioneering campaign work
